The Bukovina Center for Reconstruction and Development and the City Children’s Clinical Hospital have been actively working on this project for nearly two months:

“Emergency Care for Children in the Cross-Border Region: A Focus on Neurosurgery”

Our goal is to make medical care for children even faster, higher quality, and more accessible.

There are many exciting things planned as part of the project!

We’ll be sure to share everything that’s happening with you—so stay tuned!

Below, you’ll find more details about the expected results and upcoming events!

Short content for international audiences:

The project “Emergency Care for Children in the Cross-Border Region. Neurosurgical Focus.” (ROUA00315) is a logical continuation of a successful initiative previously implemented under the Romania–Ukraine 2014–2020 Program.

Thanks to that project, a 24/7 Pediatric Emergency Unit was established at the Chernivtsi City Children’s Clinical Hospital, and the Suceava County Emergency Hospital received a state-of-the-art ambulance.

The success of the previous project and the strong partnership between medical institutions in both countries have laid a solid foundation for this next phase—now with a focus on pediatric neurosurgery.

What will be implemented?

Modern equipment:

With EU funding, both hospitals will be equipped with the latest neurosurgical tools, improving the quality and accessibility of care for children in both regions.

Staff training:

Medical staff from neurosurgical departments will undergo specialized training to implement new treatment methods and advance professionally.

Improved management:

Hospital administrators will have the opportunity to enhance their management skills to strengthen healthcare capacity in the cross-border region.

Training center:

One of the project’s key innovations is the creation of a Cross-Border Pediatric Surgery Training Center in Chernivtsi—a platform for education, the exchange of experiences, and the implementation of best practices in pediatric care.

Our main goal is to improve the quality and accessibility of neurosurgical care for children in the cross-border region.
