3-DAY TRAINING FOR EMPLOYEES OF THE HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT IN THE CHERNIVTSI REGION

On April 12–14, 2022, as part of the project “Improvement of Transportation Infrastructure in the Chernivtsi–Suceava (Shepit–Izvoarele-Sucevei) Cross-Border Region,” 1HARD/3.1/27, the NGO “Bukovina Center for Reconstruction and Development,” as one of the project partners (Partner 3), organized and conducted a three-day training session for employees of the Road Service in Chernivtsi Oblast on the specifics of implementing EU-funded projects. The goal of this activity is to share effective experience in implementing the TCS project with the Ukrainian partner (Partner 2—the Road Service in Chernivtsi Oblast). During the training, participants addressed the following topics as part of the training sessions:
Grant support: international programs and institutions.
Specifics of international projects. Searching for suitable partners abroad. Allocation of responsibilities and resources. Partnership agreement.
Project proposal: key components.
Project logical framework matrix. Project goals and objectives.
Project target audience. Project methodology and implementation plan.
Defining expected project outcomes.
Disseminating information about the project.
Project results and impacts. Project communication strategy.
Project risk management. Evaluation and monitoring procedures.
Project budget.
Risk analysis and mitigation.
Preparing the project proposal. Attachments to the application.
Project sustainability and scalability.
Exchange of experiences. Q&A.
As a result of the training, participants gained a step-by-step guide for preparing a high-quality project application to secure funding from European donor instruments, a list of current grant programs and a step-by-step guide for working with them, as well as an understanding of the specifics of implementing projects supported by EU funds (from the moment the grant agreement is signed until the end of the project support period).
